Personalising Your Candle
When you create your candle, our design tool shows you a live preview of exactly how your photos, names, and message will appear on the jar. As you make changes, the preview updates in real time — so you can experiment until it looks right.
Before you check out, click the preview button to see a final mock-up of your finished candle. We strongly recommend taking a moment to check this — what you see in the preview is exactly what we'll print.
Clear, high-resolution photos with good lighting work best. Photos taken on a recent smartphone are usually perfect.
A few things to avoid: photos of photos (taking a phone photo of a printed photo), screenshots, and low-resolution images. These all lose detail in printing and can come out blurry or pixelated.
When in doubt, use the original file from your phone or camera, and make sure the subject is clearly visible — not in deep shadow or heavily filtered.
Choosing the right words can be the hardest part, especially for memorial and pet remembrance candles. We're putting together a blog post with wording ideas and inspiration for every kind of candle — keep an eye on our blog.
In the meantime, a few starting points: dates that matter (a wedding day, a beloved pet's years), a short line from a favourite song or poem, or simply the names of the people the candle honours. Keep it simple — short, meaningful messages always feel more powerful than long ones.
Each of our designs has been carefully laid out to make sure your photos and message look their best. The preview you see before checkout is exactly what we'll print — what you design is what you receive.
If a design has one photo slot, that's because the layout works best with one photo. If you'd love a custom layout that isn't shown on any of our products, email us at info@emberechoes.com — we're a small team and we genuinely enjoy custom requests, though we can't always promise a yes.
Get in touch as soon as you can. We start printing each day's orders at 9am — if you contact us before printing begins, we can update your details for free.
Email us straight away at info@emberechoes.com with your order number and the change you need. The earlier you reach us, the better the chance we can fix it before it goes to print.
If a candle has already been printed with a typo that came from your order details, we may not be able to refund or replace it — what's submitted through our design tool is what we print. Please double-check your spelling and dates before approving the preview at checkout.
About Your Candle
We offer two sizes: 180g (around 33 hours of burn time) and 400g (around 60 hours). Both sizes come with a beautiful wooden lid included.
The 180g is a great gift size or bedside option; the 400g is our most popular for memorial candles and centrepieces because it lasts noticeably longer. Full dimensions are on the Candle Dimensions page in the footer.
Yes. Every candle is hand-poured in Australia using premium soy wax with a cotton wick. Soy wax is renewable, burns at a lower temperature than paraffin, and is a popular choice for clean-burning candles.
To get the best burn from your candle, follow the care instructions on the Candle Care page in the footer — trimming the wick, avoiding drafts, and not burning for too long in one session all help your candle burn cleanly. Our candles are made in our Gold Coast workshop, not mass-produced overseas.
We offer five signature fragrances: Champagne Strawberries, Lemongrass & Persian Lime, Japanese Honeysuckle, Vanilla Caramel, and Vanilla Patchouli Sandalwood.
Not sure which one to choose? The Fragrance Guide page (in the footer) describes each scent and which occasions they suit best. Vanilla Caramel is our most popular for memorial candles; Champagne Strawberries leads for weddings and anniversaries.
No. We use a UV printer that bonds the design directly to the glass — it doesn't peel, smudge, or fade with normal use. The design will last as long as the candle does, and well beyond.
Once the candle has burned down, the empty jar is keepsake-quality and many customers reuse it as a memento or small vase.
Yes — that's part of the point. After the candle has finished burning, the glass jar with your personalised design is yours to keep. Wash out any leftover wax with warm soapy water and you've got a piece of personalised glassware.
Common uses: holding flowers, storing trinkets, as a make-up brush holder, or simply displayed as a memento. The wooden lid keeps it dust-free if you'd rather keep it as a display piece.
Shipping and Orders
Because every candle is personalised, we need a little time to design, print, and pour. Standard turnaround is 2–4 business days from order to dispatch, plus delivery time on top of that.
If you're ordering for a specific date, please email us at info@emberechoes.com right after placing your order with your order number and the date you need it by. We'll let you know honestly whether it's achievable — we'd rather refund you than miss your moment.
Shipping is a flat rate calculated at checkout based on your address. All orders over $100 ship free anywhere in Australia.
If you're on the Gold Coast, local delivery is free regardless of order value — just select Gold Coast Local Delivery at checkout.
We currently ship within Australia only. If you're overseas and have your heart set on a candle, email us at info@emberechoes.com and we'll see what we can do.
Every candle is individually boxed first, then packed inside a sturdy outer shipping box with biodegradable packing peanuts to keep it safe in transit. The biodegradable peanuts are a small but deliberate choice — better for the planet and easy to dispose of at home.
If you've selected gift packaging at checkout, the candle arrives ready to give — no need to rewrap it.

Get in touch within 7 days of receiving your order. Email us at info@emberechoes.com with your order number and a photo of the issue. We'll arrange a replacement or full refund — whichever you prefer.

Yes — at checkout, simply enter the recipient's address as the shipping address. We never include a paper invoice or pricing in the box, so the recipient won't see what you paid.
If you'd like a handwritten note included, you can add the message during checkout and we'll handwrite it on a small card and tuck it inside the box. Free of charge.
Yes. You can add gift wrapping at checkout for a small $3 fee — your candle arrives wrapped and ready to give. We also include a handwritten note and ribbon at no extra charge if you'd like to add a personal message.
For an extra-special touch, every candle already comes with a beautiful wooden lid which gives it a real keepsake feel even without extra wrapping.
